Mayor Barlow announces additional $75,000 for Oswego Lighthouse Restoration Project

On Thursday June 21st, 2018 the H. Lee White Maritime Museum and Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow will have a historic plaque dedication ceremony at the Oswego Lighthouse to recognize the historic Oswego landmark. In 2000, the Oswego Lighthouse was placed on the national register through
the efforts of the Heritage Foundation of Oswego County. Thanks to a grant from the William J. Pomeroy Foundation a plaque to recognize the significance of this historic building will be dedicated on the building. In addition, Mayor Billy Barlow will announce $75,000 in funding from the City of Oswego to paint the exterior of the Oswego Lighthouse. The $75,000 is in
addition to the $100,000 already pledged by Assemblyman Will Barclay. The City of Oswego is currently developing the RFP to issue for the work to be done on the exterior of the lighthouse due to be released the week of June 25th.

Where: Oswego Lighthouse - Meet at corner of West First and Lake Street.
All press will be escorted by boat to the Oswego Lighthouse for Ceremony.
Press boat leaves land at 9:30am 

When: Press Boat leaves at 9:30am, Ceremony on lighthouse begins at
10:00am 

Members of the media will be escorted by boat to the Oswego Lighthouse. B-roll, interviews before and after ceremony is welcome, event is by invite only.
